Multi-talented stand-up comedian, actor, writer, director & presenter Pax Assadi is one of New Zealand’s favorite award-winning comedians, having spent over 10 years appearing on screens and stages around New Zealand and the world. Born and raised in New Zealand and the son of immigrant parents, Pax brings a unique perspective that resonates with people of every background. His blend of personal stories and insightful observations will have you pondering life whilst simultaneously curled over with laughter.

Pax began doing stand-up in 2012, was nominated for the Billy T Award a year later and began writing and hosting TV in 2015 on the sketch comedy series Only In Aotearoa. He has been a writer and guest on 7 Days, Have You Been Paying Attention and The Project becoming a regular guest host on The Project in 2019. During this period, he also acted on TV’s Mean Mums, Tongue Tied and the animated Jandal Burn as well as within the Feature Film, The Breaker Upperers.

Over the past 3 years Pax’s New Zealand profile has been raised significantly after being a judge on talent show 60 Seconds as well as hosting The Great Kiwi Bake Off and The New Zealand International Comedy Festival’s - Christmas Comedy Gala all for TVNZ.

In 2020 Pax went into production on the television adaption of his semi-autobiographical stand-up show Raised By Refugees for New Zealand network SKY. Pax wrote, produced, and starred in the show which aired in 2022 to both critical and public acclaim and has since been bought by the Australian streaming service STAN and has also been renewed for a second season.

Pax is currently working on his debut novel as well as touring his stand-up show nationally.
